Usman Ali Khan

Director Research

Mr Usman Ali Khan is a researcher in nuclear arms control and international security with over a decade of experience in strategic policy, research, and administration. He currently serves as Director at the Network for Security, Strategy and Technology (NESST), where he contributes to research development, institutional coordination, and strategic communications.

He previously served as Assistant Director (Monitoring) at Pakistan’s Strategic Plans Division within the Arms Control and Disarmament Affairs (ACDA) Branch, where he provided policy inputs, conducted research and analysis, managed research teams, and contributed to media monitoring, report writing, and strategic communications. He has also been affiliated as a Senior Research Fellow at SVI Islamabad, working on regional and international security trends, nuclear diplomacy, arms control, and peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

Mr Khan holds an MPhil in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, with research focusing on non-proliferation regimes. He has authored over 200 articles and op-eds in national and international platforms, contributing to discourse on nuclear policy, regional security, and strategic affairs.

His expertise spans research and analysis, administration, and media and strategic communications, reflecting a strong commitment to policy-relevant and impactful work in the field of international security.
